Next it looks like I need to Enable SSH via the Change Password found with right clicking the specific NSX Edge.

I am attempting to troubleshoot a connection problem that a business partner is experiencing trying to reach one of our VIPs

on the NSX load balancer. If I ssh to the edge what commands would let me see some details about connections trying to

be made to a specific VIP?

By the same token - what syslog error level would be best for troubleshooting this kind of issue?

I finally found the issue and I can prove it's a bug in rste driver (see below), I also found a temporary workaround.

First, I testes on 3 other totally different servers (different motherboard, chipset, cpu), with the same ESX installed on a non-ssd device + 3 differents SSD (Samsung 840 evo, Samsung 850 evo, OCZ vertex 3).

-> All deployments were fine without integrity issue, all chipset were using vmw_ahci driver.

Then on the initial serveur, which is a S2600WP blade (issue verified on 3 different blades with identical configuration), I noticed there was a way to connect a disk on the motherboard, which is handled by vmw_ahci :

- any SSD is running fine on the motherboard (Patsburg 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller, vmw_ahci)

- the same SSD is having integrity issue on any OVF import, even small via the "Patsburg 4-Port SATA Storage Control Unit" (rste driver)

- then I disabled SSD option on SSD drives connected to the rste driver, then the issue disappear !

- finally I forced SSD option on a regular HDD and now there is integrity issue on the non-ssd drive !!

How this bug can be corrected ?

Is there a way to use vmw_ahci for "Patsburg 4-Port SATA Storage Control Unit"?

Yesterday I was invited by VMWare to carry out an incremental update for the version of VMWare that I have on my MacBook Air. The Virtual machine runs windows 10.

After completing the update, which had the graphics go 'fuzzy' during the upgrade, the Windows 1o that is installed does not run particularly quickly. Can you please tell me how to sort out the problem. Ultimately I could uninstall VMWare and reinstall via Time Machine but I am currently loath to do so.

Try to unregister the VM from your inventory ,

if that wont help, try remove (without dekete) the vmdk and add as a new existing and point to the vmdks you have removed.

DVUplink Section:

I get the error for this section of the script but it actually configures the port groups as expected.  I have also noticed that if a DVSwitch is created via GUI the uplinks are named "Uplink 1" and "Uplink 2" respectively but if the DVSwitch is created via PowerCLI then the uplinks are named "dvUplink1" and "dvUplink2" respectively.  Any thoughts on whats causing the false positive? Or is it even a false positive?

My point is there is a newer version of the host client available here and before attempting to troubleshoot further, you should update your version in case this was an addressed issue.

In the filter spec, we can provide a parent ID with which to search for objects. Can that go the other way?

For instance, if we have the following folder structure

• alpha
  • foo
• beta
  • foo
• gamma
  • foo

If I execute a GET against https://server/rest/vcenter/folder?filter.names=foo, three objects are returned. Can I get either the parent object from those, or some how walk the tree back up to see what the path is?

Which PowerCLI version are you using?

And which vSphere/ESXi version?
