VMware Horizon View Blast Secure Gateway （Unable to start）

VMware Horizon View Blast Secure Gateway

The service is in a suspended state, and an error is reported after clicking recovery. First time installation, please help me.

 

Windows Server 2016 X64

New windows, first install VMware-viewconnectionserver-x86_64-7.5.0-8583568.exe

 

windows event information:

1.Started C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\appblastgateway\run-absg.cmd  for service VMBlastSG in C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\appblastgateway\.

2.Program C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\appblastgateway\run-absg.cmd for service VMBlastSG exited with return code 0.

3.Killing process tree of process 9448 for service VMBlastSG with exit code 0

4.Killing PID 9448 in process tree of PID 9448 because service VMBlastSG is stopping.

5.Service VMBlastSG action for exit code 0 is Restart. Attempting to restart C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\appblastgateway\run-absg.cmd.

6.Registry key AppParameters is unset for service VMBlastSG. No flags will be passed to C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\appblastgateway\run-absg.cmd when it starts.

7.Service VMBlastSG ran for less than 1500 milliseconds. Restart will be delayed by 256000 milliseconds.

Can't deploy Log Insight 4.6.1 ova

Hi,

 

i am trying to deploy my first Log Insight in my vSphere 6.5 environment but it always fails. During the 'Deploy OVF Template' screen > Customize Template > Network Settings, if I don't select the checkbox for 'Prefer IPv6 Addresses,' it fails during the deployment process:

 

"invalid value false specified for vami.preferipv6.Vmware_vCenter_Log_insight"

 

If I select the checkbox, it fails with:

 

"invalid value true specified for vami.preferipv6.Vmware_vCenter_Log_insight"

 

So basically I have no way to move forward. I don't want to enable IPv6 because my network does not use it. Am I the only one having this silly issue?

You probably want to take a look at the HCL at VMware Compatibility Guide - I/O Device Search - that controller will indeed work, but I'd be looking at what kind of performance and features you want from the controller, and which version of ESXi you're running to find one to meet your needs. Not all RAID controllers and HBAs are equal!

This is very strange, the output clearly shows that when you double-click a .ps1 file, it would open in notepad.

Which is the default when PowerShell is just installed.

 

The execution, with the obsolete Init script, must be coming from somewhere else.

 

Btw, did you already try running your original script from within the PowerShell ISE?

That shouldn't call that Init script.

If I understand correctly, you want to merge multiple CSV files?

For that you would need in each file a kind of key.

 

Do your CSV files have such a 'key'?

The VMname column perhaps?

 

If that is the case, you could do

$csv2=Import-Csv-Path '.\csv2.csv'-UseCulture

Copy paste gets broken some time(known to multiple systems/VM/versions).

As workaround to continue my task when that occurs I have a text file accessible for both Host and Guest and paste/save in there.

A program like Notepad++ will prompt for file reload on changes made on host or guest .

Hi!

 

Personally, I prefer PCoIP because this protocol comes with support for multiple codecs which deliver great UX and offer optimal bandwidth and CPU load in VDI environments. This expands your options because you can then choose between various codecs for specific tasks. Blast Extreme, on the other hand, is a single-codec protocol.

 

I would recommend you to narrow down your choices to Wyse, HP and ClearCube. All three vendors offer endpoints that support the Blast Extreme protocol. However, my personal favorite is ClearCube because their customer support team has been very responsive to my needs. I was not familiar with their VDI endpoints but after understanding my business model, they suggested a thin client solution that delivered. 

 

The CD8841 thin client device might resonate with your particular VDI environment as it did in my case. It comes with support for Linux® operating systems and Cloud Desktop OS and protocols including:

 

1.        VMware Horizon® View with PCoIP® and Blast Extreme.

2.       Citrix® XenDesktop®, XenApp®.

3.       Microsoft® RemoteFX.

 

You can always configure the system according to your needs. Other than that, keep your options open to further understand what would best suit your use case.

I tried now.

 

When I run script inside PowerShell ISE, a new window is opened where I have the same output:

I meant from an editor window with the F5 key, not from the console command line in the ISE.

 

Does this for example also happen when you place a single cmdlet (for example Get-Process) in the Editor, and then press F5?

 

Do you have anything in this variable $CONSOLEFILENAME?

Which Smart card are you using? PIV, Java, .Net or other?

 

Maybe below works for you:

  • Installed corresponding Smart card driver on you Mac and disable PIVToken by below command line from Terminal.app.
    • sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.smartcard DisabledTokens -array com.apple.CryptoTokenKit.pivtoken

 

Notes: if you're using macOS 10.13, please make sure quit Keychain app and re-launch Horizon client.

If you using Centrify app, please disable PIVToken by below command line from Terminal.app.

сама по себе операция по смене имени VCSA официально VMware не поддерживается. Поэтому может быть все что угодно.

Но при варианте бэкапа базы глюков, как по мне, может быть больше. В том числе при смене сертификата.

Добрый день!

 

1. Давайте начнем с того о каких размерах инфраструктуры идет речь? Если у вас 3-5-10 ESXi хостов, то проще всего проинсталлировать новый VCSA и переподключить хосты. Гемороя и проблем будет намного меньше.

2. Если вы все же рассматриваете вариант с обновлением, то какую информацию на VCSA вы тем самым хотите сохранить?

3. Бэкап\рестор БД как по KB приведет к тому, что вы потеряете информацию о назначенных правах доступа, сертификатах и лицензиях, поскольку эта информация хранится в PSC. В БД VC исторически сохранились таблички с правами доступа, например, но без PSC они ничем не помогут.
